Who We Are:
G180 is a ministry of Lighthouse Baptist Church specifically for teens 7th-12th grade. The purpose of G180 is to provide an atmosphere for teens that first and foremost brings glory to God, with the goal of consistently pointing teens back to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
G180 stands for “Gospel Changed, Gospel Motivated,” and focuses on the power of Christ’s death on the cross to not only save us from our sin, but to continually work in us to make us more like Christ. G180 is not about following some religion, but rather about having a personal and constant relationship with the one and only true God.
The theme verse of G180 is Titus 2:11-14:
11For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; 13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; 14Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Based on this passage, we want our teens to experience the joy of living under the grace of God offered to them through the cross of Jesus Christ, but it doesn’t stop there! Because of the grace showed to us, we are then motivated unto Christlikeness with the ultimate goal of one day being reunited with our savior. Christ died that we might have hope and live free from the bonds of sin!
What We Do:
Ultimately we want the name of Christ to be lifted up and to help teens know what it means to live a truly changed life for God through His Gospel.
G180 is an active youth group that provides an atmosphere for teens to build strong relationships, through various weekly and seasonal activities:
SUNDAY DISCIPLESHIP GROUP:
Every Sunday after the morning worship service we meet to study through topics relevant to teens, based on the Word of God.
WEDNESDAY YOUTH NIGHT:
Each week, our teens meet in the youth building at 6:30 p.m. for a time of games, singing, and a message from the Word of God.
ACTIVITIES:
From hangouts at a youth leader's home to spending the day at six flags, we hold many fun activities throughout the year for teens to enjoy.
CAMPS:
Each year we take our teens to summer and winter camp where they will enjoy awesome activities, games, and preaching from the Word of God.
MISSIONS TRIPS:
Periodically we give teens an opportunity to use the gifts God has given them in a special way on a mission field.
